Clinical Observation of out Sin Patient Dept. of X Hospital in Seoul


Abstract
In other to know the distribution of pediatric disease which occur in month & year and season.
Author observed 542,701 patient who visit X Hospital in Seoul from 1972 Jan, to 1974 Dec.
But this data is restricted in Seoul and that one hospital so, it¢¥s may not be ruled to all patient.
On observation, patients who comes during a month reveals no specific variation, but each Dept.
Reveals highest percentage in pediatrics, & lowest in dentistry.
In pediatric patients, seasonal variation was most high in spring & fall and which was 17.6%.
At this time, author thinks that infections disease is common and also think that peoples are regret, about health control of child.
On march, the percentage of pt was highest to 10.97 % & next was April to 9. 03 regarding on disease, the sequence was respiratory infection, digestive disorder etc. but pyelonephritis or glomerulo-nephritis, meningitis & Hepatitis was very common.
In Surgical dept, there was many patients who was brought to by accident reveals same distribution at each month.
In here, traffic accident, Scalding burn, chemical burn, drug intoxication (toxic material just like insecticide, acid, alkali sedatives).
And swallowing of foreign body (Such as. coin, pin, button, etc.) but congenital disease such as cleft lip or cleft palate, pyloric stenosis, heart disease was common, & rarely inguinal Hernia, Omphalocele, esophageal stricture imperforated Anus, hydro-cephalus, etc.
In eye & ENT Dept, Con juntivitis, dacryo-cystitis was common and gonoreal conjuntivitis was rare in recent.
Strabismus, amblyopia & enteropian also common, at eye Dept.
Foreign body at External auditory canal, nasal cavity & fish bone at oral cavity was reactively common.
Especially at summer, auditory canal infection was ,most common. At winter, tonsillitis was common, at ENT Dept. In dentisting Dept.
Infantile pt. was rare but pit caries patient & in order to consult about correction of dentition patient was some.
But patient was relatively common in milk feeding than breast feeding.
